NC's mixed entry into "Kang Jung-ho School" gives up "two weeks

Former major leaguer Kang Jung-ho (37), who has never played a single game for the NC Dinos, is influencing NC batters. Players who are going to "Kang Jung-ho Academy" and those who gave up also became hot topics of conversation. Captain Son A-seop (36), catcher Park Se-hyuk (34), and shortstop Kim Ju-won (22) recently had a New Year's Day party and profile picture at Changwon NC Park and told reporters about "Jungho School."

As a player, Kang only played for the Hyundai Unicorns and the Nexen Heroes (currently Kiwoom) in Korea. He won four Golden Gloves in the Shortstop category (2010, 2012-2014) and two Asian Games gold medals (2010 and 2014) as a top shortstop. After signing a contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates of the Major League in 2015, he hit 15 home runs in 2015 and 21 home runs in 2016.

Kang, who ended his Major League career in 2019 after revealing his previous two criminal records after causing a drunk driving accident in late 2016, attempted to return to his former team Kiwoom twice in 2020 and 2022, but failed. Kang has decided to retire in 2022, and is currently living his "second baseball life" while serving as a baseball leader in the U.S.

Through his YouTube channel, Kang made headlines by analyzing his batting performance. In addition, some players come to see him adjust their batting performance. The most representative example was Son A-seop. Son, who had built friendship with Kang since Korea, posted a rather sluggish record of 0.277 with four homers and 48 RBIs in 2022, before moving to the U.S. to correct his batting performance with Kang ahead of the last season.

And this has had full effect. Son recorded 187 hits in 551 times at bat in 140 regular season games last year, posting a batting average of 0.339 with five homers, 65 RBIs, 97 runs and 14 steals, with an OPS of 0.836. He ranked first in the batting average and most hits category, and ranked third in score tally. He slowed down by posting a batting average of 0.230 through mid-April, but has since recovered to his right track. Notably, he posted a batting average of 0.373 in August and 0.407 in September, contributing to the team in the struggle for ranking. Son thus became a Golden Glove winner in the designated hitter category after the season. 스포츠토토

As a result, interest in collaborating with Kang is increasing, and several players at NC Dinosaurs are expected to join Son A-seop. Who will be attending "Jungho School" this time.
